UNESCO is an organization of the United Nations in charge of Education, Science, Culture and Communication. Its main goal is to maintain peace through international cooperation and understanding.
The Swiss UNESCO Commission is the link between UNESCO and Switzerland. It is dedicated to the coordinated promotion of all cultural and natural sites Switzerland’s. It also promotes the UNESCO values and ideals and advises the federal organizations in all issues concerning the relations between UNESCO and Switzerland.
The Commission is the link between the international Community, the Swiss civil society, the Federal and Cantonal political authorities.
