The UNESCO World Heritage Foundation

The Perimeter associated municipalities launched on the 11th of December 2007 the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch Foundation. It is aimed at supporting and achieving a sustainable development under the UNESCO World Heritage Label according to the Charter of Konkordiaplatz and its model. Preserving the World Heritage and the diversity of its values for future generations is the common task of the protagonists, interested parties, firms, organizations: actually the whole population. The Management plan serves as a basis for this task and shows how to preserve the unique Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch World Heritage in the long term and with regard to the surrounding region.

The Foundation’s three functions:

Securing and monitoring, in the fields Nature and Habitat
Sensitization and training, in the fields World Heritage Organization and Communication
Integration and  Kick-start, in the fields Economy and Culture
